This school year, Southeast Polk was one of 39 districts in the state of Iowa that received the TLC Grant to implement instructional coaches. I have the honor of being one of four coaches working at the junior high. I am moving from teaching math for the past 11 years into this new position. It has required me to adjust and change how I thought about and approached education. I have found a new passion within just the first few weeks of my new role. I have learned so much from observations of teachers, workshops with other coaches, and professional development.
